Hi, I'm Kristyn Taylor!
Kristyn is a keen, self-taught amateur photographer with a passion for travel, studio, and street photography.
Her path into the arts began in an unexpected place. Kristyn studied Zoology at university, specialising in bird behaviour, before spending much of her working life immersed in the art world as an exhibitor and educator in ceramic sculpture. This diverse background continues to inform her visual practice, blending observation, patience, and curiosity.
At the heart of Kristyn’s photography is a deep interest in people. She is drawn to meaningful connection—whether through conversations over a cup of tea in her Sydney kitchen with a local model, or moments shared overseas with the help of a translator, fully engaged in someone’s story. Through careful observation, humility, and listening, she seeks to understand and honour the lives, cultures, and traditions of those she encounters.
Respect and dignity are central to her practice. Kristyn is committed to representing the people she photographs with care, honesty, and sensitivity.
Ultimately, her work is an ongoing search for art and beauty within our shared human experience.
